Setali is a social enterprise dedicated to addressing fashion waste by extending the lifespan of clothing. Setali gives new life to discarded, outdated, or unsold clothing and textile waste by transforming them into unique and inspiring creations to reduce environmental impact while uplifting the livelihoods of the artisans and tailors who craft each piece.
By supplying fashion waste, individuals and institutions contribute to a more sustainable future and, in return, receive meticulously crafted recycled products. Every sale and project at Setali supports local artisan and tailor communities through training, skill enhancement programs, and sustainable employment opportunities.
Education plays a key role in Setali’s mission. Through initiatives like FBL and Sande Nusantara, we turn waste into works of art. FBL functions as a lab specializing in researching innovative methods for processing fashion waste that push the boundaries of sustainability. Sande Nusantara is a special initiative aimed at preserving Indonesia’s traditional textiles (wastra) and supporting batik artisans in Pekalongan, Indonesia.
